The lens you see me through
Ask any cinematographer what gets them excited, and I guarantee there’s a fair chance they’ll answer with “lenses”. Having spent many years studying film and many more practising it, I can safely say that I now understand why this is—and it’s probably the first response you’d hear from me if you asked me the same question.
The lost art
I am standing outside a cavernous hall, holding a clear plastic bag that contains several pens and pencils. My head is pounding; I’m wide-eyed with fear; my heart is about to burst out of my chest; and I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. The reason? I’ve forgotten to study for an exam that’s about to begin!
The mystery of the seventh day (I)—the earth bears witness
The Grace Community, an American Evangelical church, publishes on its website a large number of e-books, including some religious, apologetic ones, such as Open Letters to an Adventist by Michael Morrison and Joseph W. Tkach, an old and ongoing dispute on the subject of the day of rest[1].
Does God listen to my prayers?
If there is a crossroads where both the path of faith and the path of doubt or unbelief begin, it is prayer.
The decline of intelligence
"You cannot recognise the wisdom of a wise man whom you have not tested" (Papyrus Insinger, XII, 15).
Teachers who shape us

The Secret: the law of attraction and the attraction of a mirage
Whenever they are given the opportunity, celebrities like Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Susan Lynn Orman, Jack Canfield and many others emphasise how the law of attraction has changed their lives. Not long ago, Oprah Winfrey dedicated an entire episode of her show to this phenomenon, claiming that it can be of real benefit to people.
Escaping from the deadly family
Letting go of the environment and education you received at home is difficult as it is, but can there be liberation if you grew up in a family of mobsters?
Mother by profession
Raising a child is not easy at all. Raising someone else’s child is even harder. But raising six children who are not your own, giving up your life, sounds crazy to most of us.
The truth about ourselves
History doesn't resemble Hollywood films. However self-evident this statement may be, it still comes as at least a partial surprise to many who imagine that history, while not quite like the movies, is still pretty close to the dramatic depictions.
The Jesus that defies definition
You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also” (Matthew 5:38,39).
Planted—and growing
One of the most overused metaphors for our human experience of life is that of the journey.
John Andrews, the big-hearted genius
John Andrews and his family decided to cross the ocean against the current of that time. Therefore, many forgotten truths were brought to light, many hopes were reborn, and many dreams came true.
Time robbers and masters of time
How did the phrase “time is money” come to steal the true meaning of time? Time is not money, it is life.
